INDABABYLON

STREET // DOCUMENTARY PHOTOGRAPHY

Babylon
n
1. (Placename) the chief city of ancient Mesopotamia: first settled around 3000 bc.
2. (Protestantism) offensive (in Protestant polemic) the Roman Catholic Church, regarded as the seat of luxury and corruption
3. (Sociology) derogatory any society or group in a society considered as corrupt or as a place of exile by another society or group, ex: White Britain as viewed by some West Indians

Following the vagabond ideals of Sergio Larrain and influenced by my contemporary street photographers, INDABABYLON is an attempt to chronicle urban life in big cities around the world. It’s basically walking around a lot through those concrete jungles and registering some perceptions and patterns of this variety of unexpected, nonsense and often bizarre beauty rolling through this “conventional” life of our times.
